Bridle was the first coach in the Winnipeg Wesmen program history and he, with fellow Ring of Honour inductee Dennis Nord as captain, led the Wesmen to their first national title in 1968-69. 

Bridle would go on to become a respected referee who worked numerous international events, including the 1976 Olympics. 

He has been inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame (1988), the Volleyball Manitoba Hall of Fame (1999) and Volleyball Canada Hall of Fame (2000), and was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Medal in 1977 in recognition of his contributions to sport and community.
