In helping the Winnipeg Wesmen advance to the next round of the Canada West post-season, Brooke Duncalfe has earned the conference's player of the week honour.
Duncalfe, a third-year left side on the Wesmen women's volleyball team, became the second member of her team to earn the weekly award this season, after the Winnipeg eliminated the Calgary Dinos in a three-match play-in series last week at the Duckworth Centre.
Duncalfe posted three double-doubles and averaged nearly 20 kills per match.
She posted back-to-back nights with at least 20 kills, knocking down 20 in a three-set win on Thursday, the second highest total in the Canada West this season for a three-setter. The next night she had a match-high 24 in a five-set loss, and then helped the team rally in the decisive match with a match-high 15 kills and 11 digs.
She hit at least .200 in each match and finished the weekend with a .280 attacking while averaging 14 digs.
The Wesmen now move on to the quarter-final against the Alberta Pandas starting Thursday in Edmonton.
